Icon6 Sloppy Shifting!!!

I just bought a 95 civic ex with a 1.5 jdm d15b motor and s20 transmission. I have never owned a Honda and know nothing about the trannys. my car has a new clutch and I replaced almost all of the bushings in the shift linkage system. The car goes into first fairly easy when shifting to second if you pull a little hard it will pop into gear. pushing up to third gets nothing but if you pull down into fourth you don't get fourth its just empty but when you push from "4TH" to neutral it goes into third. BUT while its in third I can move my shifter everywhere I could be driving and pull it up and down and sideways with my foot off the clutch. 5th and reverse are fine. please help me!

Sounds like either your selector assembly or selector forks are fucked. Time to replace or overhaul the transmission. Tip: replacing it will be a LOT cheaper.

I would replace energy suspension shifter bushings to see if that takes the slop your talking about out. the stock ones tend to go to shyt and get real sloppy at the shifter. but that sounds like a internal transmission issue ... and sloppy shifters don't help the cause

today I bought a new shift linkage. I have replaced all of the bushing and put gm syncromesh fluid into the transmission. does anyone know where I can get a low milage transmission that wont burn a whole in my pocket?? I changed everything with no good results.

For manual transmissions, anything that comes from a 92-00 D-powered Civic will work.
