Hard into 1st gear
I have a 1995 Civic EX manual that does not like to go back into first from a stop, and sometimes even has to go into third and then first. It has a brand new clutch kit, I do notice that the shifter is a little bit sloppy. Any ideas? Thanks

maybe you screwed up a synchro?
maybe you just fucked up the tranny?

Re: Hard into 1st gear (forcefedferio)
thats just the way some trannys are... its not a bad thing its just the syncro isnt made to syncronise a non moving car..... thats why you gotta put it in a diffrent gear first.. same with reverse sometimes (even tho reverse is non syncrod) the gears dont always line up and you gotta syncro it (put it in a diffrent gear to syncronise it)

Car is bone stock.
Thanks all for the replies, the bushings could def use a replace, but i figured it would mess with all gears rather than just first if it was going to be a problem.

Every time I had a clutch that was old, I would have the first gear issue. D series trannies are weak from the factory, so something is probably worn out, or bent.
