if it's just for a stiffer ride........get yourself some springs. If you want the advantage of height adjustability.....get yourself some skunk2 coils or GC's.

skank2's are horrible unless racing. serioulsy.

the BEST for the street/money is the GC/koni setup, by far.

Totally agree. Sjunk2's springs aren't as good as GC's even though they claim they are (I speak from experience). Go GC and Koni yellow's, I have them on my 00 Si and my 95 Hatch.

i am looking to be doing some street racing, found a nice long strip here in overland park, KS, with the gc/koni set up, would this be good to help in high rpm launches or would the skunk 2 springs be better for this?

yeah, i'm wondering the same thing. i have skunkworks coilovers (yes yes i know they're old), and the only thing that sucks about them is that they're noisy (creaky).

so the gc/koni setup or the skunk2's for street racing, it's gonna be a daily driver, but i like that stiff feel, plus i like taken off after every light, which do u like better for racing, i'm a skunk2 fan so ur gonna have to do some good convincing

i have tucans + tokico's and my car is too soft up front, but the ride is ok. I think a front strut and some tien springs should do it

skank 2 coliovers are to high of spring rates for off the shelf shocks. they'll never be as good as they could be, unless you send out to koni to revalve for them

447 front and 335 in/lb too stiff? those are civic rates for skunk 2's and i think they're prefect.
if you think thats too stiff i dont know what you want. personally i think skunks are jus as good as GC's.
you need to compare apples to apples. gc and skunks, with the same rate or very close spring rate,
will ride the same. even those ebay coilover will ride the same when compared with the same
spring rates.

i work with a LOT of honda-challenge guys, and one or two run the skanks. tehy ALL agree they are too much for the street, as do most of the people the end up getting them and not liking them at all.

i dont understand this skank stuff. i've had those "skanks" and i think they're pretty good. maybe those
"experianced" guys at honda challenge bought the wrong stuff. if you buy skunks for a civic the rates are
almost perfect, and not too harsh for street. a lot of people buy GC cause you can get custom rates and
they usually get around 450F 350R which is about the same as skunks. those peole also love their
GC over skunks, i dont know why cause the rates are almost the SAME. i got GC's because of their spring
perch, alittle better and easier to adjust, other than that i rate both skunk and GC the same.
personally i htink its all in your guy's head about the "skanks". i guess whatever floats your boat.

i've always called them skank2, nothing against them...they make good ****. BUT, the coilovers suck for the street. i've driven many a car with them and they were bouncy.

the GC's are great...no one can say they aren't. they are just too damn good to overlook or pass up for me. And I'm going with something like...450/900 but...my cars for drag, and it's gonna SUCK *** on the street. my other car is getting some other, more steet tuned rates....but, i haven't talked to any of the GC guys yet to see what i'm going to get.

Used to work at a Shop and we sold Both Skunk 2 and OBX. Got the springs Mixed up one day so we compared them and there was No difference even had Matching Part Numbers.
I also confirmed this with another person I know in the business. It's not unheard of. Lots of Companies get cheaper quality parts from Taiwan. There aren't 100 different place in Tawain that makes parts for 100 different companies. Many companies get their parts from the same Manufacturer SLAP THEIR own home brand name on it and sell it.
