Default SingleSlam vtec turbo not idling correctly

i have a 93 civic dx with a sohc vtec turbo motor in it right now.... so heres what i need help with guys.

The car itself has a map sensor on the firewall,
i am using a engine harness with a map sensor on it as well.BUT THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. but the car doesnt stay at a constant idle... i let it warm up until the fan kicked on but it keeps revving up from 1k up to about 2200k RPMS.

1. will i need a different engine harness?
2. thanks guys

92-95 civic did not come with a map sensor on the firewall. that was the 87-91 civic/crx. your map sensor unless aftermarket should be on the top of the throttle body unless your using an aftermarket throttle body like skunk2 (which it is mounted on the bottom). i would remove and clean out the iacv as killacam661 suggested. look in the FAQ for the DIY on how to do this. also, you can get a spray bottle with water and at 3-4k RPM spray water into the intake and steam clean the carbon out of the engine. i'd also dump in some BG44K. yes its 20 bucks for the can, but it also is the same **** the dealer uses when you get your injectors cleaned. im not saything that the injectors are a proble, but nothing wrong with cleaning them out along with the intake and throttle if its been a while.

Some DX's have a firewall mounted MAP and it's wiring coming through the fire wall as well. Try connecting the MAP wiring coming through the firewall to the throttle body mounted MAP.
