Default si transmission

i have the jspec d15b in my 92 cx hatch and i was wondering if they make a si trans that will hook up to this motor, i heard that with this trans you can gain some decent power because the cx trans sucks ***, so if you know anyone who has this trans or where can i get it or if they even make one please let me know... thanks

Yes, the Si, D16y8, or JDM D15B VTEC transmission all have comparably short/good gears for the D series engines. You will not gain any real power, but you will gain some good acceleration, and good application of high end power, with the shorter gears. Look up hmotorsonline.com. Great place for your engine/transmission needs.

so if i get this transmission is it worth it, like is it a decent amount of power gain or should i just stick with what i got cause this 3rd gear on my stock transmission really suck, falls flat on its face cause 1st and 2nd are okay

Yes, a transmission upgrade will be worth what you get out of it, and is a serious advantage over that sad excuse of a stock transmission you have now. Once again, you won't get an upgrade in horsepower from putting that transmission, but speed isn't just about power.

thanks, im going to check out some places along with that site you gave me to get that trans and throw it in there, but i dont really see any of those transses on hmotors but ill keep looking thanks for the advice

They also come with an optional factory LSD. Hard to find tho.

Hm. Well, you could browse eBay if you're feeling lucky. Tigerjapanese.com has the JDM D15B transmission too. Oh, duh, we have an extensive marketplace that you could easily get one from. Also, check around for a thread that asks members to post good JDM import sites.

I bought my JDM D15b w/ 3 stage from Tiger japanesse, i wouldnt recomend their site, their customer service is crappy, plus they didnt give me all the right parts at first.

You don't have to go import for a shorter geared trans for the d. Just get yourself and ex or si trans for the 92-95 civic. Make sure you get the S20-B000 that is the trans for the ex/si.

ijust noticed you guys have an EX inthe states and here in canada our EX is the DX

On the contrary, I think the Canadian and American civics have the same trim levels between 92-95. And the cx transmission is quite different from the si.

Between 96-00 is where Canadian and American trim levels differ. Their Ex is our Si, and their Si is our SiR.

Hm, that's some good information. That was only really an option in "theory" for me, since I've wandered their site for a while now, looking at their stuff, but have never done business with them.

i have owned 3 civic a cx hatch a si coupe both of those civics had the same trans..

my lx is going to have a cx/si trans too.. engine has yet to go in

maybe, the trim models here from worst to best is CX, DX, then SI

DX having more options, and longer gears
