Default si top end

Is it possible to install a 99 Si top end on a d16y7 block. thanks

wow! do a search n00b. if you know anything it is that the 99si has a b series motor which is DOHC and the d16y7 is a SOHC. Can't work

no **** durrrrrr. i was askin if the top end wud fit on that block seein that a d16 and a b16 is the same displacement. basically i was askin if a b16 is the same block as a d16

No thats what they were saying. It won't work. They are 2 completely different engines block and all.

I think you should buy the head and try to put that on your block. Who knows it might work

actually he wasnt, all he said is one is sohc and the other is dohc, which has nothin to do witht he engine block. Thats all top end. I know for sure my buddy has a si bottom end on a ex top end, and i was wondering if you could frankenstien it the other way around

they do not have the same displacement, the b16 has a 1.8L displacement(i think ) and the d16 has 1.6L

i know for a fact he does he had it done at a dealership when he blew up hi bottom end. so take that one up urs. i just asked a simple ? didnt expect stupid responses

Nope B16 =1.6L D16=1.6L B18=1.8L B20=2.0L D15=1.5L

your'e friend does not have a b16a si head mated to a d16 block. ain't gonna happen bro, sorry. maybe what he meant to say, because he doesn't know **** about ****, is that he actually has a 92-95 si/ex d16z6 head mated to his non-vtec d16 block. this makes sense because its actually possible. its called a mini-me setup and many people have done it. now go beat the living crap out of your friend for making you look stupid.
