The prelude is complete stock also like my sol except for a jdm head, new gasket and cam seals on the h22. headers, intake, and exhaust. mileage is 70k as he stated but body has 200k. Mines is pretty much stock also nothing special but just wondering if it's a good deal and a good car to trade with?

personally i would rather have a sol, but the prelude has the h22 which is a way better base than your, i assume, d15. del sols are way cooler, i would see if they guy you are wanting to trade with will throw in something else :p
free stuff is always a plus
del sols = more fun
preludes = better base (imo)
it is a pretty fair trade, it is all what you are looking for

i agree and disagree on the better base thing... in a way yes but you're never going to see a lude lighter than a del sol. All it takes is a swap in the del sol (or stock b16

you are right about the weight part of that for sure, they are both great cars..no doubt about it. it would be hard to let go of either car, but either way you go im sure you wont be disappointed...just be sure the guy you are trading to doesnt try to screw you over.

Preludes don't have a whole lot of engine swaps choices. I don't think they share suspension components with other models either.

The del Sol has a lot more in common with other Honda models than Preludes do. The Prelude is pretty limited as far as aftermarket support, but if you're willing to spend some money it might be easier to make it "unique" just because fewer people have Preludes than Civics/del Sols.

I've seen threads about all the aftermarket parts available for Preludes before (seriously, had a column for exhaust, then for intakes, etc.). I don't think many people would be willing to undertake such a project for Civics/del Sols.

Haven't owned a Sol but I've owned both a Prelude and 3 Civics. I got rid of my Prelude because of the poor aftermarket support for it (even more so because I had a 92SI) but missed the power. That being said I went and boosted my civic.

I like the prelude better...all opinion based though...but since you asked I'd trade. I'm not a big sol fan.

H-series IMO are nowhere near as fun as a D or especially B-series. They are torquey, yes but hondas are fun when they rev and pull top end. H series transmissions also feel like junk, stiff/choppy/harsh compared to the B or D series. Swap a B16/GSR/LS in your Sol and you will enjoy it way more then a prelude anyday.
