you have a b16a1? i highly doubt that considering that engine came out of this... Early Integra, CRX, Civic'1.99i-VT'(EE8)(EE9).

its most likely a b16a2 considering you stated that it came from a 2000 (si). its not that hard to find a harness for that engine. im almost positive you can use an OBD1 harness which will plug in at your shock towers and just add your alternator, dizzy and other plugs into it. a z6 harness, b16a2, obd2 gsr, and type R harness would work. i see a ton of people selling these on here everday. BTW check your grounds. there is one behind your dash, one for the trans, one from the valve cover to the chassis, one on the thermostat, one on the starter and one on the alternator

you cant use a obd1 harness on a obd2 car. the harness doesnt plug into the shock towers. you would need to find another ex harness for your car which is a obd2a. after you do that there are some plugs that have to be changed and some that have to be extended a little. what makes you think that its the harness? what codes are you throwing?

Ideally get a '99 - '00 EX harness, your next closest match is a '99 - '00 EX (requires that you cut and splice the distributor plug on the harness and you may have to extend a few wires)

They will if its an Integra or Del Sol Harness. '96 - '00 Civics are a completely different one piece design, they don't have shock tower plugs actually.

AutoAdventure always has EX harness's 80$ uncut all day, screw trying to buy a "si" harness you'll pay 200$ for the same thing.

You can use any 99/00 harness if you wanna be cheap about it and add vtec wiring etc.

alright guys i got a harness but found out the hard way that this car is not a 99-2000 its a 96-98 i got the whole harness in and went to plug in the ecu and there was a major plug missing i found this out after i had already plugged the whole new harness in. so i called someone who really knows his stuff and he came and told me the car was for sure a 96-98 the kid i got the car from swapped hood fenders. apparently the 99-2000 have turn or(electric) heater controls instead of sliders hahahahah. i learned som honda history from this whole ordeal as well. hahah

SO now im in need of a 96-98 EX or SI harness please pm or call direct at 208-954-2565 my name is Rich

Thanks for all your imput and keep me posted

Doesn't work that way. '96 - '98 engine harness wont work with a '99 - '00 chassis harness and vice versa. In this case the "A" plug will be missing, conversion harness doesn't fix that See pic below:

I'm well aware that you can buy OBD2B to OBD2A conversion harnesses, but they still don't fix the issues. They're for running an OBD2A ECU in an OBD2 car or vice versa, its got absolutely nothing to do with this issue.

Well man, I may have a solution for the both of us.

I just put a 97 D16Y8 (EX) engine in my 99 Shell, and thought I could get away with running the 96-98 EX harness and ECU... I was wrong, since plug "A" on the 99 is part of the cabin harness. I'd be down to trade you engine harnesses, but shipping would be required for both of us as I'm in Billings, MT. All I'd have to find is a 99-00 EX ECU for myself, but that's irrelevant.

So, LMK if you're interested. I'm trying to get this car (my new DD) running so I can start putting my K series in my 97 Hatch...

Go read a book, someone already told you an obd1 harness would not plug into an obd2 harness. You have no credibility with me now. He needs help not confusion, get your facts straight.
