should i put a GSR head on a b16a1(yes i searched, but the answers confused me)
to start off and did a search and the results didn't answer my questions. All opinionated and no one with first hand experience "friend of a friend stories"
I read everyone of those threads and like most times all i have is a mix of different opinions. I'm swapping a b16a1 into my eg, the guy has a GSR head laying around.I'm wondering if i should use that instead of the b16a1 head? Someone told me that the GSR head will give slightly higher compression, but what's the whole thing with the flow? someone clarify that.
Or should i take the vavle train(cams, springs, retainers) from the GSR head and put it into the b16a1 head? i'm asking cause i heard the GSR cams have a higher profile and longer duration.Someone with firsthand experience and can testify to which one dyno's better on a b16 stock block please answer my questions so i could decide what to do.
Thanks in advance

b16 heads flow better than a stock gsr head.the gsr cams have a higher vtec lobe for vtec which means that there better than b16 cams and youll gain probably like 5 hp but you can hear vtec kick in alot louder.id just get a b16 head and put gsr cams on it and the compression i think will be lower right or am i wrong.

if you put the b16 head on, the compression will be lower, the gsr combustion chambers are smaller and have quench(also good)

the b16 has a higher cam lobe then the gsr cams.
thats why alot of people like the gsr for boost cause of the low overlap from the little cam lobers

if i leave the b16 head on the b16 block, the compression would be lower but you guys are saying i'll have better vtec engagement with the gsr cams?
