I beleive the chassis side of the wiring harness is pre-wired.
I was actually reading a thread the other day on it, but cant remember how i searched to find it.

There was a thread about that, but you can get some info about it here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1171263 towards the middle of the page it has some pictures of the canon plugs (the ones on the pass shock tower 14 wire one) see if yours match up there are some wires you'll need to see to know if you're prewired 4 vtec.

Re: 1992 civic's are wired up already for vtec? (extra cam needed)
^^ pretty much meaning....
that the VTEC wire from the ecu plug to the chassis harness is already there.
if you get an ex/si engine harness, then plug n play and no extra crap is needed.
visuals if u need 'em

Re: 1992 civic's are wired up already for vtec? (vtec25)
meaning all 92 civics were already wired up for vtec from cabin harness to shock tower harness. so if you have a cx,dx and you drop a vtec motor with vtec harness it is plug n play unless you drop a b series then you will need to wire knock sensor only
