Short SomeWhere????
Well again im starting a new thread bc i didn't get my problem solved on my old one,so im gonna explain the story and maybe someone can help me out. Well i just got back from getting my starter tested bc i thought something was wrong with it when it started to tick. They said starter was mint, ran and it worked. So i put the starter back in my car today and started the car. Car started so i let it run for a bit, turned it off. Cleaned up my mess that i made and tried starting it again. Just ticked. So i decided to bump start my car and take her for a boot around the block. Put the car back in the garage and now im waiting a bit to start it again. Just went out there to start it and the car started but it ticked before it started. What do you think my problem is???

Starter i don't know. When you say click, does it still start when its clicking. what do you mean by clicking? Theres clicking like dead battery, and clicking like nothing at all... but if your car isn't starting at all, lightly smack the starter with a hammer, and if it then starts, i'd replace it. They tend to only do it once in a while when they are first going out.

check your ground wires, make sure there not shorting out. also how old is the starter? did you ever replaced it before, when? if so is it oem or aftermarket?
**EDIT** if the battery was dead(which is not because you said it was new) you will definately not hear any clicking sounds!

unless it happens all the time, i don't think they can really check your starter. All they do is hook up a ground and power, and then get it to start... hence kick out the starter gear. If its intermintenly bad, it may not show up to them..... wait til it won't start and wack it with a hammer.... if it starts then, replace it. Just did it six months ago, got some funny looks when i pulled out the hammer and popped my hood at work to start it

So today was day 3 of the starter problem. I decided to take my car back to where i bought my starter from and see if they could do something for me,so i bump started my car and drove 30mins to get her fixed. Spent 30mins there and the nice guy told me what happened. I was losin Volts with the starter. So what the guy told me to do was buy a starter ground cable and run it from the negative terminal and ground it to the start bolt. Well i did that and i han't had a problem yet today.( Cross my fingers) . Seems like the problem is solved. I just have to figure out why im not getting power threw my stereo harness.....
