shift boot question

shift boot question
hey i have a 2000 si and i got a momo crystal **** what i want to know is is there an adapter i can buy to make the **** connect to the boot or do i need a new boot? i cant connect it now due to the buckle thing on the si's boot

I know this sounds ghetto but i always put duct tape on the shifter about 1/8 inch under the **** and then force the boot up over that (or you could do it with your console off and then just put it back on once the tape is on) and then the ape holds the boot against the ****. Kinda ghetto but it works good plus you dont have to buy anything and its no like you can see the tape

im a broke *** just outta high schooler so anything that works and saves money.

There is a plastic ring and bolt you can buy from your local honda dealer that you use to hold up your shift boot. You will have to remove the center console, then invert your current shift boot, and cut the plastic strap that is currently holding the plastic piece that mates with the teeth on the stock ****. Once that adapter is off, slide the bolt you got onto the shifter (minus the boot) and screw it on there to the bottom. Then take your new plastic ring and place it in the general area that the older plastic adapter was. All the while the boot is inverted. Then use either an elastic or a plastic tie or even some string and secure the new plastic adapter in place by tying whatever medium you choose around the inside of the boot, securing the plastic piece in place. Then put the boot back and voila.
I realize this may seem utterly confusing, but once you get in there its really straight-forward and simple.
