serious oil burning help!!
my ek started burning oil a few weeks ago, sometimes its a full on amount getting burnt sometimes no so much. so a decided to take the cylinder head of and check the usuals, head gasket, valve stem seals (been replaced now) and all hoses were checked and seemed to be clear.
once rebuilt the car still smoked quite bad I then checked inside the throttle body and seen that there was alot of oil gathering which led me to believe the pcv valve was sticking open so a replaced that with a geniune honda one.
everything seemed to be sorted after that but since a done about 200 miles last nite (never revved of 4k) I checked the oil and it wasn't even on the dipstick! also there was a nother build up of oil in the inlet manifold again.
the engine is a D14A4 has anyone had this experience before?
cheers Ross

Sometimes when it's so bad the tail pipe will have the oily carbon too. If it's dry and chalky carbon its ok but you should check the ex. man. like labtec2 said.

its a chalky carbon on the tail pipe but its just started, if it wasthe stem seals or rings it would gradually get worse, plus the cars only on 81300 miles, the oil is just coming into the inlet manifold throught the pcv valve, as you can see puddles in there, surely it can't be the rings if its doing that?

If your consuming that much oil perform a compression tests cold, and then hot and compare the two. Your oil should smell like gas.
The engine will suck the PCV vapor oil into the chamber, not throw it in the intake manifold. The only way it can get up there is through the PCV hose on the valve cover, and only way that would happen is if the PCV valve or lines from the crankcase are clogged, forcing air/oil into the intake.
Are you leaking oil from anywhere? Check everything, 1 quart+ of oil in the intake is madness, and highly improbable.
