no CKF - still start - run like poo
no FITV - still start - may idle like poo
no thermostat ECT sender - still start - run like poo
you can unplug almost every sensor other than those in the distributor and the car should still start. You can even disconnect one of the ones in the distributor and it will sort of run... (not one specifically, the rest will still allow it to run super crappy)
what have you done, what are you seeing, what have you checked?

Re: sensors sensors sensors!! please help techs!
its a EJ1 with a b16a2 swap and so far i've checked all fuses(hood+dash), replaced starter, main relay, dizzy. and all my grounds are in their proper locations. im also running a p28 ecu with an obd2 GSR wire harness. ive yet to do timing again. however, the white line on pulley that lines up with the crank arrow seems to be a centimeter off. i think i need to check for CEL. batt light and CEL is on, and batt is new... and...ive changed dizzy timing twice =]

If your CEL is on, what codes are you getting?
Which grounds have you checked? Just name them, please.
What do you mean the white line is a centimeter off? Make sure the crank/cams are in time mechanically before trying to mess with the distributor.

Re: sensors sensors sensors!! please help techs!
I will be finding out what code it is after work today,
the grounds i've checked are valve cover, thermo and tranny, also my neg batt cable is grounded straight to my chassis
The white line on the crank pulley that lines up with the arrow on the block is a tad bit un-aligned but very hard to notice, cams are lined up with their corresponding marks on the belt cover.

You can completely remove the FITV. You can buy a little plate that blocks off where it used to be on ebay. All the FITV does (when working properly) is to raise the idle when the coolant is cool. If you let your car warm up in the winter before driving you should be ok without it. It will warm up slower as the idle will be lower. The FITV is really an unsophisticated piece of equipment. it works quite well when it's clean though. No need to get rid of it.
