i'm asking because my car (prelude) was in an accident, both fenders, lights, hood, rad suport needs replacing, maybe more. just wonder how much it would effect the value of the car (even though i'm gona keep it till it dies.)

Usually when the Air Bags Blow the car is an automatic SALVAGE, but ya if like the Rad support or frame is bent they usually total the car. Depending on how well the car was fixed the VALUE should be close to Book value but DEFINITELY ALWAYS LESS than Book value.

mine was totalled, the insurance gave me 3500, and we bought a front clip for a grand. all that needed replacing was fron bumper cover, top member set (radiator support)headlights, hood, and fender cause the corners by the headlight were dented in.
cut off the car, cut off the clip (rad support) bolted it all together to hold it in place then welded back. everything fits flush and there was no other damage. the only problem was that someone had keyed the hood fenders and bumper on the front clip. but now my car is up and running! there are always to fix things for cheap...then again, i dont plan to resell my car

as much as it will take for you not to accept it back from insurance...

I've seen some mint condition cars that had salvage title.... there's a place near me that does nothing but sell cars that have salvage titles with NO damage... they don't even paint bumpers usually...

But as far as value... it shoots it to hell.. because there is no destinction from flood theft total loss etc etc...
