is it safe to drive on 3 lugs nuts for like a week, one of mine just snapped on my front driver side wheel, and well its my daily driver, i would be only driving it to work which is 10 min away on backroads. But would you say it be ok to do it for a week, and juts cjeck my wheel evreytime i go back and to work?

So you need a new stud?

I don't think I'd drive on it, but I've seen a bunch of people who drive around like that for months on end and have no problem.

yeah, sorry, i couldn't think of the name, can i just replace that stud or do i have to replace the whole peice as one, im not sure if its the hub or not?

same thing happin to my friend on the high way..we just made sure the other 3 were nice n tight..he drove on it for about 3-4's till he replaced the stud..didnt have any problem's..and thats on chicago streets..but..i still wouldent recommend it

perfectly ok. 5 lugs only really need 3 lugs to keep the wheel in place anyways. with 3 mounting points, youve constructed a plane, that will keep the wheel from moving and pivoting outside of that plane. still should get it done when you can, but youre wheels not gonna fall off or nothin

Still not a good idea. Get the stud replaced.

I know someone driving around on 3 right now, he's been driving like that for a few months(waiting to get it replaced).

no prob dude happened to my friends trans am he drove like that for a few months then some kid totlled it from the rear its all good he has a camaro now lol

I've been running 3 lugs since Oct 05 without any problems. Planning to change that buy installing my Integra brakes that I have lying around.

my car had 2 lugs per wheel when i bought it, and i have a feeling it was like that for quite awhile, first thing i did was put some lugs on, but still, the previous owner didn't die...

I've been riding around on 3 lugs on my driver's side front since sometime in '05. I don't personally recommend it, but you can do it.

my buddy has been driving on 2 lugs for a year no trouble.. i wouldend do it thou! just me.

At the very least, get some anti seize and borrow a torque wrench. Whatever you do, don't "tighten the ****" out of the remaining 3.

I've seen more than one Civic in the middle of the road sitting on one brake rotor, with the owner chasing after a nice *** wheel up an embankment.

To replace the front wheel studs, the hub has to be removed. The splash guard & knuckle are in the way, so you cannot just pound the old stud out. Your best off to take it too a shop that can easliy press the hub off because it does require some special tools. A ratchet operated "puller" can be rented from autozone to get the hub off, but you do run the risk of pulling the wheel bearing apart. If that happens, then you will need professional help anyways...

There is a way to replace front studs without removing the hub, but involves cutting a hole in the dust shield, and cutting half the studs head off for clearance. I don't recomend it...

PS: i replaced all my wheel studs in 4 hours on a del sol

use air tools and hand tighten lugs b4 torqeing to aviod screwing up the threading

ive screwed up studs b4 using impact gun to spin lugs on

I don't think that I've seen a honda these days with all four lug nuts. **** I've done it for a while and nothing ever happend, but i guess that it would be all up to u.

A few months ago I helped a rather unfortunate family replace a flat that they had in their Civic. It was held on by two lugs, had all 4 threads, but only held on by two lugs. The lugs used were also two different types, I had a hell of a time chasing down a wrench from an SUV to get the other one off.

You'll be ok, just get it fixed as soon as you can.
