hello! I hope someone can help me out.. I am freaking out. I am going to try and explain this as best as I can..

I have a Honda Civic Coupe 97'... last February(08) I got into an accident and replaced the front bumper, hood and head lights. Now here is the problem.. I have just noticed that the guy who did the body work only did one coat of paint..

...is that normal? i have heard there should be atleast two coats.

.. I also noticed that looking at my hood I could spot some rust on the edge of the hood, towards the "H" emblem. I quickly took it to the car wash and rinsed the car.. when I lifted the hood I noticed rust all along the inside rim of the hood, bubbly, and looked like it was spreading!

I don't know what to do, please help me! I need some education on this matter cause I don't even know what I am dealing with.

ditch the hood and get a new one and leave the old 1 on the doorstep of the body shop (smash it so its not usable)

and no a proper paint job should have more then 1 coat, he just didnt give a **** and wanted to get it over with

Are you sure it's just one coat? How can you tell?

It sounds like it wasn't prepped propperly either.

when i looked closely i could see the the metal underneath the paint... i also work at a dealership.. i asked the foreman at the shop and he confirmed it being one coat.

can i possibly do something other then get a new hood?

I don't know why he said to get another hood.

Just get it prepped for paint and have someone else do it this time.
