Broke the hood
My friend has a 1998 Civic LX. He was closing the hood and didnt think to put down the hood post (happens to the best of us). He made a spider crack in the paint and bent the hood up about an inch. The spider crack is about 4 inches in diameter. He is looking to fix it, if he brought it to a body shop how much should he be looking to pay. The crack isnt deep, and the hood is fine except the left side is bent up a little bit. I understand that I have no pictures and you guys cant see it, but how much would you guess it would cost. Thanks

Re: Broke the hood (96lewd)
He has to get a new (or used) hood. You can't really fix a bent hood.
I've seen several cars that this has happened to; it never looks right afterwards unless the hood is replaced. Body shop will tell you the same thing.
He's looking at paying for a hood, the stickers for the underside, paint supplies, and labor for painting the hood and blending the bumper/fenders. Go to a few body shops and get estimates.

Re: Broke the hood (Targa250R)
OEM hood is around $250 from Honda..

and probably another $200 to $300 for labor to paint, color match, and blend into the fenders and front bumper so its not noticable..
The other option is to put a Want To Buy post in another forum and see if he could find a used one in decent condition..
