Civic not getting fuel
Hi all. Im hoping that you can shed some light on this problem that i am having.
A bit of a story to let you know the situation.
Car is a 1.4 98 civic 3 dr hatch (inspiration in supersonic blue)
I was driving back from work and my speedo started dancing around. then about 15 seconds later my cel came on. I pulled in and turned the car of. then it wouldn't start again. that was 2 months ago.
I came home and did the usual. i checked to see if the car was getting a spark.
The spark was weak so I swapped out the dizzy. Now the spark good
I then checked to see if it was getting fuel. I took the hoses off the fuel rail and there was fuel under pressure. I then checked the injectors and as far as I can tell they are not firing. no fuel sprays out. So that made me think that the bump stop switch had been tripped. so I reset it. still nothing. I also have an s2k and it has a factory fit imobiliser. the imobilser light comes on on it at pre checks. the civic wasnt doing this so I thought the imobiliser had packed in in the ecu. I got a new ecu, keys ignition barrel, immobilizer unit and transponder and it had the same problem. sooo!
After trying all that im guessing that it is a simple problem and some guru on here will be able to shed some light on the subject. Heres hoping. and thanks for the replys when they come
Regards
pete

i havnt checked the relay yet. will do though thanks... any more suggestions.
if the fuel pump was pumping would that not suggest the relay was ok?

Re: Civic not getting fuel
If you've got fuel pressure at the rail but the injectors are not pumping any fuel out then it's an electrical issue, not a mechanical one. Have you checked related fuses and relays to make sure they are working correctly?

Re: Civic not getting fuel
man this has happened to 2 of my civic exactly what u are saying happened. there is a small ground that controls the noiding (firing) of the injectors.. if that ground comes loose or get rusty it will not fire the injectors. mine looked good but was broken in the wire case, so don't just visually inspect the wire, i would make a new one. i have also seen it happen to a bunch of other civic. i hope this helps because it took me a long time to figure this out the first time..

Re: Civic not getting fuel
man try the ground.... i swear to god it will kill your car if that not hooked up... and its a real easy to check.... ground are so important... it was easier and cheaper then the main relay. there is also a test u can do to see if you relay is good. it in the hanes manual if u can find that online.
