Default Running "Rich" Why?

I just finished working on my d15b7 motor. The timing belt was removed and put back together when I put back all of the motor parts. Also added headers to the head. Now when I'm about 3 rpm and start accelerating I smell the sent of my gas being "rich". But since i added headers and re-did my timing (by hand, haven't taken it to the shop which ama do soon just after I get this question answerd) I'm not sure if the sent of rich fuil is because of the added headers or my timing is off by a little. I'm just curious as to see if headers do anything like that. Thanks

did you mess with your O2 sensor? I am pretty sure your O2 sensor is on the stock header, and you just put a header on, so did you move the O2 sensor? throwing any codes?

I put the O2 sensor back into the headers that I just put on (took it off the stock headers and put it on the new headers) everything seams to be working fine. The sensor is new. And the check engine light works but it does not come on when I'm running the car. That tells me that nothing major is happening with my car, I just want to no why I might be running rich (I use 91 octane gas by the way). But this didn't happen to me b4 juat when I re-did the timing and put the headers on. And I also threw on a b18 throtle body on the intake manifold. And all the sensors are reading good. (I don't no if that might be a problem)
