Rough Idle..Car shakes...Help
My idle is real rough. It shakes my steering wheel kinda bad at times, and i can feel it idle thru my seats and the floorboard and what not. The idle drops down to 100 pretty often and shakes violently, then comes up to about 800-1000 and holds. If my lights are on, it hangs around 500 or so and shakes pretty damn bad. Sometimes without my lights on it hangs around 600, and still shakes pretty bad. Anyone know whats going on here? What does this sound like to you?

I have this problem also, except mine doesn't jump up at all and hold, it just goes down. I've tried a lot of things, major tune-ups, ignition timing checks, even pointless valve adjustments, and nothing really has worked. I've been told that its probably a vacuum leak, but I had always assumed that that would cause the engine to idle out-of-control and jump, not just die down. Some have told me that I should just get a new distributor, and I'm about to just do that one of these days.
Good luck. Lemme know if you figure it out.

That was what i was thinking, a vaccum leak....That happened to my civic when one of my buddy's took off one of my vaccum line, it felt really bad like it wanted to die. We drove around like that for awhile until he remembered that he took it off, anyways we put the hose back on and it ran perfect! So i would have to say it sounds like a vaccum leak.....
