RIM size, do they rub?
i have a 94 civic si hatch. right now i have the stock 15" alloys with bald tires, so i was going to get just new tires, but i thought that maybe i should get rims too while i am at it, and see if i can get a deal, i found a pair i like but they only come in 17" I have adjustable coilovers and shocks so i could adjust but i want it low still, and my friend has a 97 civic coupe with 17s and everyonce and a while the tire hits a bolt on the suspension the is above the wheel, and when the spring compresses it hits, he has worn through a tire already from it, it that cuz his springs suck or what, cuz i have seen civics with 17" and even 18" once or twice at shows, so will 17s rub the screw or not, or is there a way to prevent it or shoudl i look for 16s????

depends on how low you lower the car with the 17's, I've had my car lowered with 17's way back when, it never rubbed, but it was BARELY lowered, personaly, I'd stay within the 15" - 16" range. Just my $.02

i have maxxim 17s and have it lowered where the tire is jsut in the fender well. myy passenger side fender skirt is out and the driver side catches a little part in the skirt in the center of the wheel but only scratched the surface of the tire. i can get my car sideways doing 45 and the tires dont rub. just watch out for bumps in the road cause your ride will go to ****. thats why im airbagging it now

I have 17's on a 92 si hatch, and slammed on neuspeed race springs. The front rarely rubs, and the back rub once and awhile on hard bumps or when i turn hard, but they dont rub on the bolt, they rub on the quarter panel lip, so i got the lips rolled in the rear and they still rub now and then but especially if i have people in my car.. hope that helps, personally i like 17's but do what you want

You shouldn't have any problems. My car is dropped right to the ground with 17's and I have no rubbing, only when turning hard over a bump or going over big bumps at over 100 mph.
