Default Rev limiter at 3500rpm

hey all, this has been happening more and more in my car the last 2 days. It happened a few times a while back and never had any serious issues. Sometimes the car will only want to rev to 3500 in any gear, No CEL's. The car is a 1996 civic with a 1995 LS swap, running a P06 ecu with S300, just installed S300 last night and the car was doing it before that with a P75 ecu. Any suggestions? I searched and came up with a few different things to try.

sounds like to me its a wiring issue and the ecu is in limp mode. you dont have to have any cels, or ecu codes for it to happen. generally, it would be a problem with the dizzy internals starting to fail. i know i had a wiring issue on my old 91 civic hatchback for a week or so with it not revving over 3500 rpms as well. personally, hondata i do not like. aem and chrome ftw. are you able to tune/edit the s300 yourself?

let me ask you this because I believe I have a similar problem. When you take it pass 3500 does the car just bog down then pick back up and go pass 3500 or does it not allow you to go pass 3500 at all?

I know my old EF did that and it was because the distributor had crapped out on me. See if one of your friends has a dizzy you could try and see if it still does that. I know mine wouldnt bog at all, it just had a 3500 rpm rev limiter.

Dizzy is what I was going towards as well. There's lots of LS dizzy's sitting around my friends garage so I'll try one tonight. And yes I can tune/mess around with S300 myself. When the car does pass 3500rpm's is pulls hard all the way to 7000rpm.
