Default Restore engine additive.

Not too sure if this is the right thread for this..

I was at Autozone the other day and I saw this restore stuff that you can put in your motor to "restore the compression and performance."

http://www.restoreusa.com/Engine_Restorer.html

I remember I put this stuff in my old Saturn SL a long time ago, and from what I remember it actually helped considering it had over 300k miles on it.

Anyone have any feedback on this stuff? I might try it on my LS swapped EK, because the motor was previously boosted, and last time I checked, my compression was at 145,145,146,147.

If I do end up doing it, I will do some compression checks before and after to see the effects. Just curious if there's any negative side effects.

It's hard to put much faith in a repair in a can, but if you're just trying to get by a little longer, or planning on a rebuild anyway, it couldn't hurt. Since you've got before numbers, this would be a good experiment. I'd be interested to see if it actually restores compression.

it works for retarded people

insert into oil and it will pinpoint the problem and destroy it on contact

Do not waste your money. It is better to just change the oil on time and replace parts before they break.

I wouldn't bother. However, if you feel like using it and posting any results you have, I am in for them!

I used it year after year on my y8 in my coupe. it actually did me some good as far as compresion goes (sorry cant give numbers, over 5 yrs ago) & never had a problem with it, just follow the can and change oil again after 1.5k
its more of a prevenative product, its not gonna fix any real problems going on but can help, at least it did for me
