Resonator = no raspy snappy on throttle sound
I just removed mine due to age and decay......really no difference in volume just tone.

Well, I had custom exhaust on my old car without a resonator.
It was loud, yeah, but it flowed pretty well.
I installed a resonator because I was over the noise. Man, what a difference. It was night and day with the power loss.
This was on a b18c1

with my stock resonator on there its still raspy as hell, i think it might be too old to work right anyway. especially when hot nitrous exhaust hits it through no cat and greddy header. that will kill your resonator pretty fast. i would just go 2.5 the whole way, and get a high flow v8 type cat to put on it to make it legal and sound better.

oh ya, forgot silencer. definently get an exhaust with a silencer. if you don't and noone makes one for your car you will be stuck like me, making your own silencer outta sheet metal and garden tools
