Required Engine Harness for 1999 Civic Si motor in 92-95 Civic
Tried searching, but couldn't find a pin point for the answer to my question.
Im purchasing a 99 Civic Si motor with no engine harness.
On a previous civic I owned, I used a 98 R motor with 98 R engine harness.
I wanted to question, what engine harness should I be in the market to purchase for this 99 Civic Si B16A2 Motor?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

90% sure you want the 99-00 si harness, but i think a obd1 ex-si harness will work with adding a few sensors, and chaging the dizzy with a obd1 and the injectors aswell, or even use ANY 92-95 civic harness and add the vtec oil pressure switch + solenoid to the list of plugs to add

You want to stay OBD1 obviously, so use the harness you have in your car now. You will have to extend the O2 sensor wiring, and a few things. You will also have to add a knock sensor, and the VTEC wires if you haven't already. Use an OBD1 distributor, injectors and OBD1 P30 ECU, and you will be perfect.

90% sure and 100% wrong, which confuses me even more because the rest of your info is pretty spot on.
92-95 = 2-piece engine harness
96-00 = 1-piece engine harness

Thanks again

Use an engine harness from an obd2 gsr/type R. You will haveto jump the neg. wire from the dist to the driver side shock tower for your rpm tach to work. You don't have to worry about obd2 sensors like the crank angle position that is on the oil pump since the obd1 ecu does not look for it.
When you use the obd 2 harness makes it plug & play with the alt/dist/fuel injector clips.
Good luck
