Replacing rear wheel bearing on ej7 (searched)
This may be a unique way of making a first post on HT, but i've mostly been an onlooker. Would anyone happen to have an usefull write up on replacing the rear hub assembly on a 98 hx or similar models? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Re: Replacing rear wheel bearing on ej7 (nurve)
do you have discs on it or stock drums?
i just did mine with disc, but with drums its probally similar. i had to remove my caliper and rotor, then remove the 36mm nut with a breaker bar. then i used a slide hammer with a flange you can rent from autozone. place the flange over the lugs and tighten them, then you pull with the slide hammer. Then lube the shaft (no homo) where the hub was sitting on, replace hub and tighten with 36mm and breaker bar (much easier with a impact gun)

Re: Replacing rear wheel bearing on ej7 (malubawla)
That should solve the violent wheel wobble? It's gettin' more severe everyday, I rarely have time to mess with a car anymore. Lookin' to get it all done tonight!

yeah can the hub assembly and it should fix your problem....the inner wheel bearing goes bad causing the problem, but you have to buy it as a complete assembly....it costs about $115
