Can someone explain how to replace the expansion valve. Like a step by step and some pictures would be great too but not needed. Its a 1994 civic ex

someone already did. they even printed it in a book available at almost all auto parts stores. Reasonably priced even.

the following has no guarrantee of accuracy or completeness. this is why books were made available at the auto parts store for reasonable prices.

have a shop evacuate/recycle the refrigerant so that you can open the system. remove the battery. remove the glove box. carefully, and with good quality qrenches undo the two lines under the battery that go through the firewall. under the dash undo all the bolts and screws holding the evaporator housing to the duct work. remove the evaporator housing. split the housing in half after removing the clips and screws. clean all of the crud out and off of the evaporator. you now have acess to the valve. take note of the layout. undo the line nuts and remove the valve. be sure you use all new o-rings lubricated with compatible refrigerant oil.
