So my oil seal leaks(located right where the driver side axle goes into the transmission). I was wondering if i have to pull the transmission apart to replace this seal because of the metal backing or if i can pull the axle and just pull the seal right off and drive the seal in without having to take off the transmission, any links or answers to my questions would be greatly appreciated!

You don't need to pull the trans. Pull the old seal with a seal puller and drive the new one in.

Yep, pop the axle out. Pull the old seal out, then try to find a socket that's the exact size of the metal ring on the outside of the seal tap the socket with a hammer to push the seal in. Make sure it's seated properly and even.

Thanks guys, helps alot. I just pulled the transmission and reassembled it yesterday, i really didnt wanna have to take it off again!
