Replaced distributor and plugs car starts but sputters out and dies..
Car starts then sputters out, I'm thinking since everything is hooked up correctly.. Maybe I just need to disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes to reset ecu??

Also check whether the plug wires are installed in the proper firing order on the distributor cap.

Did you replace the distributor with an OEM one from Honda or some after market cheaper unknown brand one?

"you probably have it upside down
flip the distributor 180 degrees and try it "
That is not physically possible

new one might be bad.. or you are replacing a good part with a good part and the real problem is somewhere else

it actually is possible if you knew what he was referring to. You probably have the cam gear 180 degrees off, you probably have the order of the spark plug wires wrong as well. GL.

1.) Remove dizzy
2.) rotate gear 180 degrees
3.) reinsert dizzy
4.) check that plug wires are connected in proper firing order per this nice picture I'm linking you to-

I dont think those 2 guys work on hondas.
The slot is off center, so you would have to use a sledge hammer and a full swing to get it in there the wrong way. HE IS NOT REBUILDING THE ENGINE.the gear is in there and THERE IS NO WAY TO GET A CIVIC DISTRIBUTOR IN THE WRONG WAY!

Please stop displaying your ignorance as a superiority complex. It's very unbecoming.
It's only offset a little bit and with very little effort it can be inserted backwards with just the right tilt of the distributor. It's happened time and time again. There is several threads here in the 92-00 section that the user has done this, flipped the gear and problem solved.
Now please, don't bash the **** out of regulars who are providing feedback, especially before you verify if the claim is True or False!

If it's not the dizzy what are the symptoms as it sputters out? Too much fuel/running rich? I have seen a bad IAT sensor cause similar issues. It continues to add fuel that is not needed. Any Check engine lights coming on?

Let the noob say what he wants, its a known fact that a couple members on here have already installed their distributor incorrectly and it was even pointed out to them.
