i dont think you can. and anyway it would just be stupid as F*#k to do cause its kinda of a pain just to line up the main shaft when you put it back in.

[facepalm.jpg]....if you want to learn how to remove the motor go pick up a haynes or helms(spelling) book at autozone or where ever you go

Much easier to take it out all together. You only have to remove 2 more mounts and a harness or 2.

Re: (turbojdmhatch)
your should use a engine lift for this. if you don't have one you can get one for like 150 bucks. they don't go fpor very much. also yeah should definetly get a helms or haynes manual to help you because if you have never it before you will be unhooking and taking off parts that don't need to be taking off therefore waisting a lot of time. theres probablly a FAC or a DIY around here on this site to help you.

its easier to remove it all in one piece. because when u go back to install the tranny its gonna be a PITA to get it back to the longblock if the tranny is still in engine bay. plus youll have more room if u pull everything out at once

hey, you can do it, but it is easier to get back in if you remove the whole thing. Just remove the tranny mounts & wires and you don't even have to take out the bitch pin.
edit: through the bottom you can leave the bitch pin in, not sure about through the top

and here is a step by step play of the big steps you have to take....
1. take out axles
2. remove all plugs and wiring
3. remove shift linkage
4. put chain on motor to lift it using an engine hoist
5. take out all mounts holding engine in
6. you should be ready to take the motor out....here is the biggie...you ready??
7. jack the engine hoist up and tilt the motor down on the tranny side and keep jacking it up til your motor is out of the car!!!! thats all there is to it.
i mean seriously its self explanatory...take out everything holding then engine in. put a chain on it to support it when you drop the motor mounts/tranny mounts/torque mount. jack it up and maneuver it til it is completely above the engine bay and pull the hoist backwards and set it on the ground. must you really freak out like you did? i hope this helps you. goodluck.
and btw...everyone on this thread is right. it is 100000x easier to do it all at once...you have room to work with and it will be easier to put everything back together when its out of the car.
