ref ? and Sway bar ?
I bought an ASR rear brace kit which included an ITR rear sway bar and all oem harware, and in order to put the sway bar on my eg i had to get new lca, so i bought a set of skunk2 lca. I was under the car the other day and noticed that the sway bar is hitting the lca and has put a small dent in both of them. Idk what to do to fix this? Any ideas?
Next question:
I am going to the ref on tues for the 2nd time with hope of passing. I have heard a lot of people say you should use 100 octane gas, and it will make it easier to pass. Why is this? What is the higher octane going to do for emissions?
Thanks

I doubt 100 octane would help especially with a stock motor!
the higher the octane level...the higher the temp needs to be to burn the fuel
Meaning you might have unburnt fuel during the smog test
But I might me wrong

the higher the octane level, the higher temp and compression is needed to be to detonate the air/fuel mixture.
Detonation = bad. you want combustion, not detonation.

it does help. it makes the cat increase in temperature which in turn the hotter the cat gets the lower your emissions get. i showed you on my first test just by running 10 octane i got my NOX down to 1600+ when i went back without 100 fuel my NOX jumped to 2400+ cause my cat wasnt getting hot enough.

1600 is a very high reading as it is. It sounds like the octane of the fuel you're using isn't the (sole) issue.

I am not sure if its the si or itr end link. i just installed what was in the kit. No its no upside down.
It could be that my car is too low. i will raise it and see what happens.
As for going to the ref, it had to be postponed because i snapped a brake line going up my driveway the day before the appointment. so i had to order some new lines from wilwood and they sent me lines that were to short so now i have to wait til next week.
I will update when i go to the ref again, early next week.
Thanks for the help!

The lower the octane, the better it burns... I ran 87 in my CRX with B16 for ref, and it burned clean and passed...

Re: ref ? and Sway bar ? (Dc4iNtEgRa)
does anyone have some scientific reason that higher or lower octane is better for emissions. I would think because the lower octane burns at a lower temp it would burn more thoroughly, but i hear mainly to use 100.
any more input?
