Default Recommended LCAs - Skunk2 or Blox?

Hey Honda Heads,
Just wanted to ask some advice. I'm wanting to upgrade some suspension components on my 99 EM1 Si. I currently have coilovers, but I want to upgrade to an adjustable toe kit, camber kit, and lower control arms. When it somes to the lower control arms, I was thinking Skunk2 or Blox. I've done some searching in the past posts on here and it seems like the people who have gotten the Blox lower control arms eventually ended up unhappy with them. The Blox are the most affordable, but some say that their poly-urethane bushings wear easily and cause noise. I know, I know...."Ya get what ya pay for." I just wanted to know if that is truly the case. Anyone actually happy with their Blox lower control arms? Anyone unhappy with their Skunk2 lower control arms? How about the Blox adjustable toe kit? Any input would be appreciated.

Just replace the bushings in you current LCA's. I also do not recomend Enery suspension, I would buy Prothane motion control bushings if i had a track car. For the street just buy oem bushings or your gonna have a ride quality downgrade.

Also why are you getting adjustable camber kits? those aren't needed unless you have coilovers. I would recommend a high quality kit if i were getting one.

I could see buying an adjustable toe kit. I would make sure its high quality though because i would have to have that particular part break while in a corner.

Thanks for replying. Do you think lighter weighted LCAs are overrated? Good point about the ride quality, that is a concern of mine. It would be for street use. I currently have coilovers, what would you consider a quality brand of camber kit/toe kit? The Blox components are attractive because of their price, but in doing some checking into past post here, most were either disappointed or indifferent when talking about their performance. On the flipside of that, I hear a lot of people say that Skunk2 parts aren't that much better. They say they just get a lotta hype because of their name. Which isn't neccesarily a bad thing. Just wanted to get some input from those who have tried either product.

I have the Blox lca's and they've worked out just fine! I got them not because they were cheap (although a definite plus) but because I didn't want to deal with greasing poly bushings (Blox have rubber) you get with pretty much ever other lca. The bushings look like the day I put them on and that was a year ago!

I've heard of this little company named Honda that makes great LCAs.

Their bushings are much nicer than aftermarket. Since the aftermarket arms themselves offer little to no advantage over Honda arms, I'd say that the better bushings give the Honda arms a big advantage. Dont want torn bushings in 2 months? Go with OEM arms and clock all of your bushings.

You can get some LCAs for the EM1 at http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. They're around $110 for both.

i've had 2 different cars with blox lca's and i've never had a problem with them, IMO they're better because they're cheaper and just as good if not better than the skunk2 ones. if you get skunk2 instead you're really just paying for a name. but i prefer blox

Thanks for the input Honda Heads! Love having a place to ask these types of questions. I'm now leaning toward the OEM LCAs. I like the look of the aftermarket ones, but the original LCAs have lasted almost 10yrs. Glad to hear from some of the peeps running the Blox setups. I'm going to be looking into their toe kit / camber kit.

I would recommend Omni Power. I have their setup with poly bushings and it works great. They have a provision for a sway bar also.

You might also want to look into getting some that have spherical bearings. I believe Function7 makes a set that have them. Those are what I wish I have on mine now, but I am very happy with the Omni Power ones.

I am using the megan ones, I think it all comes down to which ones you think look the better.

Do the Honda arms include new bushings, or do you have to buy them separately?
