It's up to you dude, I had a set of modified halo projectors in my car so the halos were red . But, that was back when I was 17 years old.

Like I said before, it's a question of taste for you. If it's your taste, go for it, but hang on to your stock ones, as you'll soon be wanting them back.

Functionality wise, I would not recommend it. From my personal experience, the projectors have pretty cheap light output, the halos often will end up with a malfunctioning LED, resulting in unrepairable BS, and worst of all would have to be the quality of the headlight covers, which turn yellow, fog up horribly, and chip within a year.

If you want just the aftermarket projectors, go for the Denji projectors, or the TYC's, like I currently have (yes, I still like a little rice with my Honda). For my experience, the Denji's weren't my taste, so I didn't get them in the first place, but the TYC's provide great light output, and are still clean and clear after about 2 years now.

Do you think that it would be cheaper to have my lights retrofit and then do hid's..

Do the tyc's and then do hid's?

You could buy the TYC HID projector headlights.

What I actually did is get the TYC's then get an HID kit. Now before everyone freaks out over this, I don't blind people. Simple as that. I even took precautions and drove in front of my own car in a friends car. However, nor do I get a super clean cutoff, so don't get your hopes up for that either. I simply got it to provide me with better light output for myself.

As for the cutoff, I don't care as long as it's decent (think along the lines of an integra with PnP HID type cutoff). I drive a Civic. Not an M3.

If you want a decent cutoff, go with the retrofit, or get projectors made for HID. However, for a budget, my setup does me good, and I don't mind suggesting it for others as well. Just make sure you ADJUST THEM WELL OR YOU WILL BLIND AND POSSIBLY HURT PEOPLE.
