rearranging the EG dash
A friend of mine got adventurous (sp?) the other day and moved some of the switches around on his Civic dash. Here is his e-mail. Kind of makes a little sense if you ask me. He said it took him about an hour. He has the extra foglight switch though so those w/o it would take less.

i have WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much time on my hands. today since i felt so proud of myself getting that back seat to fit, i decided to play with a few other things inside the car, namely the dash layout. i don't know if this has ever bothered you james, but i always hated where honda put the switches on the dash.
originally they go like this:
SUNROOF | DIMMER | CRUISE (Steering Wheel) FOGLIGHT | DEFROST
it is difficult to open the sunroof and windows at the same time, not to mention the passenger has no access to the sunroof without leaning across the driver. the location of the foglight switch bothered me as well it just didn't make sense to me to have it on the opposite side as the headlight ****. next up is the cruise control. the switch never really bothered me, but it makes more sense to me now, that it should be located on the same side as the buttons on the steering wheel that control cruise and resume. after everything is said and done, this is the way the dash buttons are now.

Re: rearranging the EG dash (KAMiN)
Hell yeah man!!! But the only thing that annoyed me was the sunroof button... If that was done before, i think imma do the same, with just the sunroof...

Re: rearranging the EG dash (dogpile5)
while we're on the subject of stupid **** i have done to my car...
i also bought a $2 10A switch i installed behind the dash. the purpose of this is for when i can't find anything to jump the service connection under the dash. now whenever i am on the dyno, or the engine pulls a code i can just flip a switch to set ignition timing or diagnose CEL codes.
