Default I need some Help

I want to get a civic for my next car. I already have a 90 accord but its getting junky. I want a car for my daily driver in college. But i also want the car to be able to handle road racing(open track) stuff every other week. I was think of getting a Hatchback, but not sure which year i like both 5th and 6th gen hatchs. Which is weel suited for me. Also should i look into a coupe or sedan too. I don't want to spen more than 10,000 for the car. And whatever it is i plan on doing a engine swap. Which car will handle a B16JDM or B18JDM better. Which engine is more suited for what I want. Thanks
Matt
sorry for all the questions.

5th gen, cheaper, lighter, handles better.

Go with a 5th gen hatch, forget about coupes or sedans(more expensive anyway). You can probably get a decent looking 5th gen hatch for anywhere between $2500-$5000 depending on miles, but you will be swapping anyway. The best engine to swap is by far the 1.8L B18C, you might spend anywhere between $3500-$5500 on those but worth the investment.

A fifth generation hatch is going to be the lightest and cheapes tway t o go . I would suggest a 92 dx, kinda stripped but pre wired for a v tec. if you go for a 93 or newer you need to either run wires or get an si (nice but the power steering is a negative when road racing) that is going to be pricey or a vx.
