you have to have the retractor assembly @ the angle it's supposed to be mounted for it to work properly, unless it's already bolted in.

Default Rear seat belts locked?

Hey guys. I'm in the process of putting my car back together. It's a 1994 Civic Hatch. I basically tore the whole car down and redid everything. Sound deadening, re-dye all plasics, ect. And I put the rear seat belts back in and they are locked. So I took the assembly out and messed with it for a while. You can move the belt back and forth very slowly and you can get it to extend. But you can't extend the belt as you normaly would to put on your seat belt. It instantly locks after you pull it. I think I remember the same thing happening to my friends S14. Does anybody have a clue on how to fix that? Or do I have to buy new seat belts?

Yeah it's already bolted in on one side and I still can't pull the seat belt out.

Did you let them retract all the way? I've heard of that happening before.

yeah I did with out knowing it. I fixed it though. Just make sure when you take apart your civic completely and put it back together. You mark which seat belt came from which side. I guess it's the angle the belt has to be from the retractor in able to work right. Thanks guys.
