Default Rear Disc Conversion on EG (SI to DX)

I have a eg hatch dx with drums. Can I just swap in the rear trailing arms with rotors, calipers, pads and parking brake cables from an EG SI? I did a search and all I find is integra brakes to civics. Thanks.

Sounds like you have a donor SI. If you do take the front brake, proportioning valve, and brake booster/master cylinder.

Well take everything that you can.

EH2 DX and EH3 Si front brakes and master cylinder are the same (unless it is a '94 Si-ABS). The only thing he would need would be the proportioning valve.

I just did my Integra brake swap today and the prop valve was a bitch to put in with my B18C. The IM kept getting in the way and the line fittings didn't want to screw in at first.

do you want to be able to stop better or just the looks of rear disc?
if you want to stop better upgrade your front brakes, they do 70% of the braking on a fwd car anyways. o and fyi stay away from slotted and cross drilled rotors

i'm interested in doing this conversion aswell.. but i've also heard that a big break kit in the front would be just as productive..

isn't it true that if i get a big "big break kit" i can only fit 16" or bigger rims on my car?

does anyone have any suggestion of a good big break kit for a 93 civic ex.. somewhere in the 400-600$ range?

All the EG and EK non-ABS prop valves are the same. No need to swap.

I got the upgrade kit from fastbrakes.com with the integra calipers. I'll keep you guys posted on whats going on. I checked part #s for dx and si and they seem to be all the same in the front. Thanks for the replies!!

Hi,

I have a 92 DX that i swaped the rear disc brakes from a 1995 EX.
I got it from my local junk yard.
I found out that I also needed to purchase the proportioning valve and the master cylinder with buster.
I did it in steps that;s why I'm telling you to make sure you get everything upfront.
the junk yard removes the complete assymbly for you.

it's the best thing I did for my kids civic.

good luck.

Maybe it's you. LOL. I just swapped the prop valve for a 4040 and waiting on a MC. Braking does feel a little better, but with a bigger MC, it should stop even better.

DC's have bigger front brakes right? Or is it just me?

Are those also bolt in or is it better to use the proportioning valve and master cylinder with that swap?

I might be able to get a full circle brake set of a 1998 LS and it only had 70ish-k miles on it. Well, how many miles is 80,000 KM? lol

The thing I"m worried about is ABS, my 93 EJ1 doesn't have it but I think the brakes do.

Yes, but what a bitch it is to put it in. I spent like 1.5 hours trying to squeeze my hand behind the IM and trying to get the lines to line up so the fittings can screw in properly. Mine was from a DA, so I didn't swap the bracket, which could have alleviated the pain and frustration if the correct bracket was on because everything might have lined up better.

yeah bolts right up, I have 93si brakes on my 95dx 4 door, only had to make the e-brake cables go in a more direct route than around the gas tank.

The DA, 94-95 Integra RS, and EG ones are the same. Only the Integra RS and EG share the same bracket. If you can find one from an RS, the bracket will bolt on at the 3 studs on the firewall. Still, tinkering with the lines and trying to screw them on is a bitch.
