Default Brake swap question on EG

Hi folks. Have a 93 Si with rear drums. I just got my rear disc brake parts and I was curious if I have to change the MC and prop valve for this. I have read people changing them on there DX and CX's but not the SI. Please help! Thanks.

Thats weird, are you sure you have an Si? Because I too have a 93' Si and it came with rear disc brakes. I could have sworn that all Si hatches(92-95) came with rear disc brakes. But correct if i'm wrong.

i have almost the same question but i have 94 ex. i just ordered a eg6 rear disc swap from hmotorsonline and i was wondering if i need to change my prop valve. i read somewhere that i don't need to chane the mc and prop valve since its an ex, but i also heard of somepeople switching to gsr mc's and integra non abs rear disc prop valve. if anyone has any info let me know please.

if you are going from drum to disk (gsr) , you should change mc,bb and non abs prop. valve (4040) or si (3040) this will have better brake distribution, but again some of h-t members will have a difference view about the prop. valve

IMO the 4040 makes the rears too 'touchy'. 3040 should be fine. I upgraded my m/c also to a 15/16 one from a 91 EX Civic. nothing to reflare or mod.

From what I read, it seems to just be preference. You can run the rear discs without upgrading the prop valve, m/c, and booster right?

I have a CDN 93 Civic SI coupe. Which is EX to you American folks. I paid $150 USD for mine but what killed me was the duty and freight. I paid almost what I paid for the brakes.

So I guess the answer to my question is to not change anything at all. I know the SI or EX came with larger front disc brakes then DX and CX's. Thanks for the help and any more info would be great. Thanks.

i heard from somewhere that you don't have to replace the mc and brake booster on the ex's. i think you don't even have to change the prop valve but i'm not too sure on that.
