the reason they dont work is beacause he took the tint of probaly with a razorblade and took the bars with it<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jL iLLuZiOnz 9 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">maybe yours is like mine. my rear defroster doesnt work because the owner before me tinted the window, or so he said. how do i get them to work? i drive a sol by the way, so if anybody knows, help out.</TD></TR></TABLE>

look at the back window on either side, you should see a spade connection with wire connected to the vertical bars at the edge of the glass.
If those are connected, then you can do a resistance check between the two vertical bars by removing the connectors to the glass, and use multimeter (set to the ohm position) to ensure that there is at least one path for electrons to flow. If you don't have a meter, you can do a visual check of the horizontal bars checking for cuts or scrapes.
Meters are cheap (10 bucks) at Radio Shack, you don't need a fancy one

Re: (KayOs)
Can you take a pic?
If it can be soldered, maybe, but it dependes on how it broke off. You can't just glue it because it has to conduct electricity.
If you can't get a pic, go to a auto glass shop.
