Rear brake lights and tail light stopped working
Hello Honda-Tech,
I have a stock 1994 Civic CX hatchback. Yesterday, both rear brake lights and the top tail light (where the spoiler is) went out. I was told by a Kragen associate to check the red A10 fuses. I checked them all and they seem to be fine. Anybody know what the problem is?
Also, did the 94 CX hatchbacks come with a fuse cover? Mine doesn't have one so I'm starting to question if my car was broken into.
I am mainly concerned with fixing the rear brake lights and the tail light though. Don't want to get pulled over for a fix it ticket!

i have the same problem and just swapped the brake light switch on the pedal and it didnt work either. the brake light switch is 20 bucks at kragen if you wanna give it a try, but kind of a bitch to get to. the switch is pretty simple looking and doesnt look like something that would simply break unless someone physically broke it.

There's a brake light switch on the pedal? I probably wouldn't give it a shot if you said it failed.

Does the horn work? If not, check 20A hood fuse #42.
As vdub mentioned, check whether the rubber stopper that presses on the switch at the top of the brake pedal is broken or has fallen out.

Re: Rear brake lights and tail light stopped working
My dad had the problem fixed. Not sure what he had his friend, who is a mechanic do but I do know that it was a fuse issue. I realized that someone jacked my fuse cover and the fuse label. Who would want that? Just glad that nothing else was taken and will have to take more precaution. Ordered a new fuse cover and label from Honda yesterday for $30 after tax.
