Really Dim Interior Light?
it's always been like this since i had the car but never bothered me or really used it before untill last night. everything in the car lights up fine. im guessing it's just the bulb but wanted to know if it could be anything else before hand....

wouldn't the fuse be the same thing then, burnt or not?

Not necessarily. When my backup fuse popped, my radio and clock got dim.

Do you have a aftermarket alarm in your car? if you do it could be that the installer did not use a relay on the domelight trigger...... I have the same problem.....when I unlock my car with the remote... but when I open the door the dome light lights up bright......

My '97 EX and my '98 EX both always had kinda dim dome lights. I upgraded to an LED bulb and now it's much brighter.
And neither car ever had a fuse problem. The factory bulbs were just kind of crappy. Glad that '98+ EXes have map lights too.

You have to realize that bulb will last basically forever. The only reason I had to replace mine once so far was because when my car was stolen the theives broke my dome light cover and stole the bulb.
I just thought of something... which dome light do you even have? Do you have the EX/Si dome light or the CX/DX domelight? They're different (on 6th gens at least). Do you have a 5th gen or a 6th gen?
Also, you can install the maplight into your car if you want to.

there's one little slot on each side to stick a flat head into and carefully pop it off.

Fuses can be partially blown. It doesnt happen often, but can happen. Ever see a car with one headlight dimmer than the other? thats why.

door switch?</TD></TR></TABLE>
the switch that pops out when you open the door... that turns on the interior light.
just under about knee high (if you're short) on the opening side of the door (opposite the hinge)

if the connections look burnt, replace it. that's never a good thing.
Also if the plastic looks like it's melted in any way, replace it also.

Re: Really Dim Interior Light? (DrZoidberg)
My 00 Cx sucks no matter what, It has to do with where they put it. The front seats block the light from going to the rear of the car. And everything is in a place that there are shadows everywhere. Im contemplating whether or not to get the L.E.D. If I do I'm going to wait until the bulb I bought burns out.
Nighthawk are like $3 for two bulbs and they produce allot more visible light but the positioning of the dome IMO, Is complete crap I think they should have put a dual bulb in the dome so the front gets more light as well as the rear.
