Default Real quick! SOHC crank spec question!

Ok well my friend spun a bearing and fukd!!! the journal in his 97 civic ex. Now we are trying to find a crank. I threw all my old D16Z6 motors away and now we need a crank. We found a 89 1.6L (a D16A or something) and we need to know if the stroke of the crank and the overall specs on the crank are identical so we can get this turd running. Thanks!

I'm curious as well if a z6 crank will go into a y8 block?

Honda list a different part number for the 96+ cranks, likely due to the crank angle sensor setup.....

Honda list a different part number for the 96+ cranks.........likely the snout changed when they changed the oil pump setup for the crank sensor.

Honda changed alot of part numbers for '96+. Just looking at them, the Y8 crank is the same physically. The crank pulley has the teeth for the CPS. The snout change came in '01, with the D17 cranks running the larger 28mm snout and pump drive like the B series. I know the DOHC ZC crank will work in an A6 and Z6, so I would assume the D16A1 crank will work too. The stroke is the same, so if the crank fits the journals it should work.
