Re: Honda Civic starting problem
hello everyone,
i have an interesting case I’m currently having. I bought a 2000 civic lx sedan last month from a police auction. It’s kinda of cool because it’s a father son project. It has a stock d16y7. It was abandoned so I got a good deal to start this adventure but no real direction on what is wrong. So far we got a key made for it. Then when we tried to start it it will crank but not fire. We’ve tried a lot of things to make it happen but we’ve kind of hit a dead end
-changed the valve cover gasket
-verified we have spark to all 4 plugs
-compression tested the motor (all around 120 psi)
-verified the fuel pump is turning on
-drained the gas and replaced with fresh gas
-changed out the injectors for brand new injectors
-ran a system check through the obd II and no CEL
-made sure there was gas getting to the fuel rail
-charged the battery
-changed the fuel filter
-made sure the timing belt was aligned and tight
when we pour gas into the intake manifold it will fire up but once the gas is gone it will die out. But with the fuel pump coming on, fuel making it to the rail, and brand new injectors I’m not sure what could be going on.
Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome thank you

Re: Honda Civic starting problem
Check whether each fuel injector clip has battery voltage with key in ON(II).

Re: Honda Civic starting problem
If the clips have battery voltage, then verify that the injector clip ground wires are properly pinned to the ECU connector and have continuity (no breaks).
If the injector ground wires are fine, then the ECU is bad or lacks ground at one of the key ECU ground wires.
