It rattles when I try to start it

It rattles when I try to start it
I started the car up because I don't drive it much anymore, pull it out into the driveway, let it run for about 15 mins, pull it back into the garage, left it in Neutral, go out of the car to make sure I left space for the other car in the garge, got back in, and then just turned it off...
When I realized what I did, the first thing I did was try to start it back up... as I turn the key over to start it.. all I hear is( buzzing rattling sound). Then I'm like oh sh*t, it's still in Neutral, I put the key in the unlock to put it back in Park. I try to start it up again.. and I get the same rattling buzzing sound.
What do I do
It's a 1998 Honda Civic LX.. pretty much stock.

Car is find.. nothing wrong with it internally... I barely drive the car.. I just start it up from time to time to keep things moving. I just turned it off while it was in Neutral and it wont start back up.. I've done this before my accident and the car started back up no problem..

Shutting the car off in neutral has absolutely nothing to do with whatever your problem may be. It wouldn't matter if you shut it off in drive or reverse for that matter. It just has to be in either park or neutral to start. To me it sounds like you have a bad ground, bad starter, or bad solenoid.

push the key to the position where all the dashboard lights light up, apply the brake, and shift it into park.
and like the previous poster said, shutting it off in neutral wouldnt have any affect on your car not turning over.
