Default Radiators - How long till needing replacment?

Hi. I have a 1993 Civic LX. I just got it a couple weeks ago. The radiator isn't in the best condition, but still seems to be cooling fine. The bottom of it is starting to get a little rotten and so on. How far should I let it go before getting a new one? Or will it last a while? I also have a temperature gauge on my dash so I can monitor things that way too. Thanks for any suggestions.

if it works then you are good. but if you see a little leak, then its time for a change. just when you replace the radiator, remember to change the thermostat and the hoses

mine just blew up on the highway a few weeks ago, i suggest getting a new one so this doest happen to you, i got a stock one from pepboys for around 100$ and it installs with one bolt, also check those hoses, if the radiator is rotten chances are the inside of the hoses is gone too not to mention they are cheap!

I got a KOYO oem replacement for about 100 bucks shipped off ebay, same price as the one from autozone or pep boys, and its about twice as thick as stock, with 30% better cooling. Its plenty of cooling power no matter what motor you drop in.

the pressure inside got so great that the whole top portion of the radiator (which is sealed by some adhesive) litterally blew the seal out. and no i feel bad i should have gotten the big rad. for the same price...
