Default radiator fan problem

I have a weird problem with my cooling fan on my 99 civic dx d16y7,every time when my cooling fan would come on my temp needle would rise then fall back to normal operating temp.Could it be the temperature sensor going bad having wrong readings?

Bleeding the cooling system may take 20-30 minutes.

1) Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear.

2) Push/turn the dash heater lever/**** to MAX heat. Fan need not be on.

3) Follow the directions in the diagram below

Perfect!

when air passes over the temp sensor you will get a crazy gauge, Air gets hotter than the water, so bleed your system properly and check again.

Okay thanks again Ron,but is it normal for the temp needle to rise when the cooling fan turns on while in the process of bleeding the cooling system?

Normal operating temp of the engine is between the 1/4 and 1/2 marks. Don't let the needle rise above the halfway mark on the cluster gauge for any sustained time. Otherwise you risk engine damage.
