Quick Ratio Manual steering racks from Moroso. What happened with that?
There was talk about moroso building a quick ratio manual rack for Honda Civic's. What's up with that? I saw the post long tim ago, I was wondering if anything came to be from that?

If i remember correctly it was through fastbrakes. It never went through cause the price was too high for the people that were interested. Basically a set number of people were needed to make the initial batch and not enough people had the cash they were asking for.

I know there was a thread about QUAIFE doing some... the price was low... I think they just never did anything about it..
right "fastbrakes" was the user/vendor that was going to get them done...
here's the update thread... don't know the current status though.

I believe it was more like 275 for just the gears/pinon not a whole new rack

Yup I think I got 150 from the original thread guaging interest on it... somehow that got shot up quite a bit...but it even says his original thoughts were 350...

I originally thought the cost would be around $350 retail, given such a small production run, but looked at the numbers again and realized I can sell them for $275 and still keep my shirt (if they sell).</TD></TR></TABLE>
That seems pointless to me. I think it's not even much faster a ratio then the stock powersteering rack.
*edit*
And on top of it all it ONLY fits manual racks so I at least would have to buy a junk core and rebuild that... it also doesn't include seals which I'm sure most of us would replace at the time of rebuild.

Thanks for the updates folks.
I e-mail quaife about this. We'll see what happens. I'd like to get better than 2.5 turn lock to lock. But anything would be better than this manual rack. Blah

If you read my post... or the thread I linked... I'm pretty sure they're ONLY available through "fastbrakes" on here... and on top of that I don't know if he ever got enough orders to get quaife to make them...
I'd IM "fastbrakes" on here... he'll know more than anyone.

Re: Quick Ratio Manual steering racks from Moroso. What happened with that? (NonovUrbizniz)
bump for updates I had called and left a couple of messages on the Fastbrakes answering machine about 2-3 weeks ago with not return call with credit card in hand ready to reserve/buy a rack. I'm curious to see if this is still available as it is still listed on their site as I am typing this Maybe someone else will have better luck at getting some sort of information on the status of this product...

You guys might want to try pagasus racing catalog. I don't know their URL, but I'm sure a quick search on google will find it. I believe they make custom steering rack gears.

yeah the fastbrakes situtuation was too good to be true, originally saying 150$ for the whole setup, got alot of people excited. then the price went up... alot.
i looped my ps rack and it felt good for about 2 months, now it fells like ****, very sloppy.
if brain did get these quaife units made im going to buy one from him after all, theres no other choice that i can see. steering is important
