Default Quick question about a header

recently bought a header off craigslist not going to say the name to not start a flame war, but the flange doesnt line up pperfectly one bolt did but the other is kind of off set but it went in none the less point its there is a small gap between the header flange and the cat will that affect anything or is it something minor?

can you see exhaust gasses coming out of the said gap if yes then obviously this is gonna have some effects. What obd is your car so we know where it has o2 sensors if air is mixing with the exhaust before the o2 sensor this could have definetely have undesirable effects. Why don't you just have a exhaust shop weld it on for like $20 that would be your best bet imo

okay so then the leak would be after the o2 sensor if you see no smoke i wouldn't really worry about. If it was me i would have it welded but it's prly not a big deal if you dont. I mean plenty of guy run with just open headers it's just not necessarily too good for old mother nature

There's supposed to be a gasket between the header and cat. That way it will seal up right.

unlikely over inflation would cause that, that would be a balancing or alignment issue. I almost asked you if you had that gasket but i thought it was a stupid question. Ha that would def be your problem. It's a pretty thick gasket too
