EK's are 96 -2000 Civic 3doors. EJ's are 92-95 coupes I believe. But yeah EK is right for sure. EK9 is a CTR. They range, EK4=SiR EK3=DX/CX Low Emission.

did some reading.

EJ is for coupes, but not 92-95, for 96- up

Ek mr5 is right on the number designations.

The best way to find out is look at your VIN #. I have a 98 coupe and in the VIN # is EJ8. I believe EJ signifies it's a coupe where the "8" is my model year.

Maybe it is just better if people just stick to the norm. A civic is a civic, year is all that is really important. Do you think people in Japan ask "What is a DX or What is an Si?" JDM is getting ridiculous and this post is another perfect example. But yeah, does japan even have coupes? I knew that EJ was somekind of coupe. Good lookin' out DRAGII.

its all turned into this wierd kind of slang..
If you notice, the only 92-95 civics that actually have the designation of "EG" in the vin are the four doors (my Si hatch is an EH3, my old 92 DX sedan was EG8) But everyone calls them EG's because in japan the hatches are EG's as well.. I think it has more to do with what country the car was built in and the year it was produced more than if its a hatch, sedan or coupe.

I am nbot trying to flame, sorry if I came out wrong. It is just that these ek, eg, ej, dc things are getting crazy. There are some guys in my neighborhood that say, the chassis codes all day long. They refuse to call a civic a civic. It's cool though, sorry. I have a broken rim, so maybe I am just venting.

Exactly, that's why I say screw it! I drive a '96 Civic EX Coupe. I don't give a damn WHAT the chassis code is!
